- puts the power of Email into the hands of the Recipient, not the Sender!

Spammers obtain your email address from various sources, including:
- Free email services (Go create a Hotmail account and don't tell anyone about it. Go back in 90 days and see how many Spams are in the mailbox!!)
- sending Jokes or Greeting Cards to your friends (They get two email addresses - yours and your friend's.)
- Chat Rooms,
- Newsgroups,
- WHOIS records (if you own a domain),
- HTML archives of mailing lists,
- your web page
- and many other places.
They will send emails to as many people as they can, normally offering products of little or no interest.

Spammers, normally use fake 'From:' addresses (of course, the spammer doesn't want to be spammed...)
and from other spammers who sell CD-Roms of millions of email addresses.
No more emails from spammers who use fake or forged email addresses!

will require the sender of an email to confirm their email address.

Some spammers offer a way to be "removed" from their "mailing list".
Naturally this is a big lie. Most have no mechanism at all to remove you from their "list".
Since many spammers buy CDs with lists of millions of email addresses that were harvested off the internet from other spammers, the real purpose of their Remove lists is only to confirm that you are a real live person who read their email long enough to be removed!

is new technology that is different than any other mail server.
You, the Mailbox Owner, can now choose who sends you emails - and all others are blocked!
ASKmail works with standard internet POP3 accounts that allow for User Authentication. It does not currently work with web-based email systems such as HotMail, Juno or Yahoo nor with MSN or AOL's proprietary email systems. If you are using any of the above, you should upgrade to ASKmail..
