ASKmail is a spam blocking system based on the premise that all incoming email is assumed to be unwanted until sender has obtained permission (called Confirmation) to send you email. Until they do so, mail from unapproved senders will not appear in your In-Box.

Unapproved senders are automatically offered the opportunity to Confirm. If they do so, you will then see their email appear in your In-Box.
In addition, you may obtain a list of senders who have not Confirmed, so that you can choose to approve (or not) all future emails from that sender. You can also easily pre-approve your existing contacts if you don't want them to receive the Confirmation email.
