What is it and how does it work?
BCLE is a Link Exchange, also called a Banner Exchange.
Participating websites can display small, non-obtrusive banners on other participating websites.

What's the difference between BerksCountyPA.Com's
Link Exchange and other link exchanges like Microsoft's LinkExchange.Com?
1. All participants are merchants and websites here in Berks County and the surrounding area.
2. Your banner will be displayed many more times per day than on any other service. For instance, in October '99, the opportunity exists to display
your banner 400 times per day on more than 1,900 web pages.

Why are the banners a small 250 x 55 pixels - why not the larger 468 x 60
banners?
Because your company's website has
priority. When people visit your website, you expect them to view your products & services. You don't want
a blaring large ad at the top of the web page to interfere with your products, now do you?
BCLE's links are small, and can be placed anywhere on your website, and you'll receive
more advertising when the link is on the most popular web page on your
website. Most participants place the banners at the bottom of the page.

Banner placement on your web pages:
- anywhere; top, bottom, in a column, it makes no difference. Your banner will be displayed on other members' websites
when it is reviewed and approved by our staff.

How do I get started?

Design your banner. Size: 250 pixels wide by 55 pixels high. Create your own, or use
our blanks. |

Create your Account in the Berks County Link Exchange
Click
here to sign up. Add your account by entering
a new name and password. |

3.

Insert one line of HTML Code onto your web page(s). The html code will be provided
to you when you sign up.
Copy the code and paste it onto your web page. When you see Members' banners appear on your page, then you know
it's working.
As with other Link Exchanges, your own banner will NEVER be displayed on your own page. (This would be known as
a wasted ad.) Credits will begin to accumulate immediately. |

- You earn credits when visitors visit your website. BCLE automatically counts the number of exposures and schedules
your banner to appear on other websites - and it all happens instantaneously.

Managing your Account
Once your banner is in the que, there's really nothing to manage. You just
sit back and count the clicks.
How do I check the Daily Statistics?
When you sign up, you choose an ID and a Password to view your account statistics.
The system tracks
- the IP address of the visitors
- the participating member's web page that it was displayed on
- the total number of times your Banner was displayed
- and the number of clicks on your banner
- and it calculates the %click-thru ratio.
How do I obtain the identities of the people who visit my website?
Back in the beginning of the internet, the people who wrote the specifications for HTML had the foresight to allow
anonymous visiting of public websites (not to be confused with subscription content or Online Services). Therefore,
the only way to obtain a visitor's identity is if the visitor willfully provides it to you. Here at our place,
various websites use the many methods available to achieve the goals of the website's owner. To add these advanced
features to your website, tell us what info you'd like to collect and we'll make it happen.

for $7.00 per thousand impressions, ( 0.7 cents each) minimum $100 order prepaid. Check or chargecard.

For every 2 times you display the banner of another member, you receive
1 display of your banner on another member's website.
It's that simple.
- If your business is in Berks County, there is no cost.
- If you'd like to Upgrade to a 1 for 1 display, the cost is $6.00 per 1,000 displays
- Websites hosted by 1USA.COM receive the upgrade for Free.

book Yellow Pages, but on the internet for a much wider audience.
