Internet Answering Machine Software |
|
| After the favorite It-Rings service went out of business, we spent months searching the Internet for other Internet answering
machine software and Internet call waiting software, downloading each of them and trying them out, we were able
to locate only 2 that we could recommend: CallWave and Pagoo. We found that CallWave worked better than Pagoo in a few locations but Pagoo worked better than Call Wave in most locations. This could be caused by either the phone line or the computer. My suggestion is to try CallWave first - because it is free (and what is the true cost of some free software? Advertising! ) Here's a brief description of the two software programs. Click on the links below to go to the respective sites and download the programs. Call your phone company and activate the "Call Forward On Busy" feature. When calls come in, the calls are redirected to one of these two services. Alternately, if you have two phone lines, you could direct the incoming call to another phone line. CallWave: CallWave's free Internet answering machine and Internet call waiting software allows you to surf the Internet on your single phone line without worrying about missing important calls and without having to have a second phone line. Callers can leave a message and hang up. A window will pop up saying that you have a message. You click to hear the message through your computer speakers. You decide whether to call them back now or later. Free and subscription versions. Pagoo: Pagoo's Internet call waiting and Internet answering machine software allows you to receive phone messages while you are online. Callers can leave a message and hang up. A window will pop up saying that you have a message. You click to hear the message through your computer speakers. You decide whether to call them back now or later. It also has a caller ID feature which displays the caller's phone number, if available. Although it costs $4.95 per month up to a rediculous $9.95 per month, it has a free 30 day trial which allows you to evaluate the software free of cost. Don't let the fact that Pagoo is a paid program prevent you from trying it out. |
