| 1USA and Spam... or should I say Lack Thereof. 1USA has three email servers. You have two email addresses, by default, on #1 and #2. To have Spams blocked, Forward the email to Webmaster and be sure to include the Headers of the message. To view the headers, right-click on the email, select Properties, then click on the Details button. If you need help, give us a call. MailServer #1 - protected heavily from Spammers. This is also the server that has our Primary WebMail service. Most customers use this mail server by default. Rule #1: They must be a member of an ISP or website host who properly configured their DNS. This covers 98% of all good companies around the world. Since Spammers don't wish to be tracked down, they don't want to be found. Spammers still put MSN, AOL, etc. email addresses in their filth. Do Not email them to complain or you will find your email address on those "10 million for $199" CD-Roms. Rule #2: MailServer #1 uses the worldwide Mail-Abuse lists, known as BlackHoles (servers that are known to send spam) and Dialups (the pool of dynamically-assigned IP addresses from trunklines like UU.Net, PSI.Net, etc.who have NO idea which customer is using it) The above blocks out 95% of the incoming Spam. It would also inadvertently block anyone who isn't using the MailServer they are supposed to be using. For instance, EarthLink FINALLY blocked their Port25 last month. Earthlink customers should ONLY use Earthlink's mail servers. Well Done. MailServer #2: Members Area Has the same AntiVirus protection as above. This server also offers WebMail. Spam blocker is activated, but not nearly as robust as #1. If your friends cannot mail to MailServer#1, have them mail to this server in the Members Area. Emails received here should be in Plain Text format vs html format. When an email is received in html format, you'll receive a message with an attachment named File.Ext. You simply click to open the attachment with Internet Explorer or Netscape web browsers - they read html pages. MailServer #3: Our unix machine has no virus protection (none available for it) and no Spam filtering. If you'd like an email account on this server, let us know. If your friends cannot send emails into 1USA's Email Server #1, click here for some possibilities. |

| Maxtor & Microsoft Shatter Capacity Limits On Drives Maxtor, MS and some other industry players announced support for the industry's next generation ATA interface standard that breaks the 137GB barrier for ATA hard drives. This breakthrough allows the creation of ATA hard drives that can access more than 100,000 times more data than the current 137GB interface standard. "Surpassing the 137GB limit is another notch in the evolution of storage capacity. We are very pleased to be working with Maxtor to enable increased capacity for our mutual customers," said Rob Short, VP of Windows based operating system development at Microsoft Corporation. "Customers are participating in an increasing number of storage intensive scenarios such as data warehousing, application servicing, multimedia, video and music. Increasing the drive limit allows them to easily meet their needs with fewer drives and, in the case of enterprises, in far less physical space." The "Big Drive" interface initiative succeeds in breaking through the barrier with an upgraded ATA interface allowing for up to 48 bits of address space on a single drive, and therefore the maximum capacity of an ATA device up to 144PB. |
