If you send an email into 1USA and it is returned to you "Undeliverable"

There are more than 200 reasons why an email is "undeliverable".
You need to
read the reason - as stated in the error message - usually the Last Line. It's in English.

The error message may say:
-
We do not Relay
-
Connection Refused
-
Unable to Resolve
-
Filtered out by Filter0
-
"Your mail server at ---IP Address-- is listed on the International Black Hole List"
-
Does the sender's computer have a virus?

-
Cut to the chase. Provide me with an email address where *I* control who can send emails to me, not the Server.

  We Do Not Relay
This error means that a non-1USA member is trying to use the 1USA Mail Server to relay their emails to somewhere else.
That's a no-no.
Is the sender's email address setup correctly?

  Connection Refused
This error means that 1USA's mail server will not accept a connection from your ISP's mail server for one of the following reasons:
-
your email server's IP Address is probably blocked because it's either on the International BlackList or it's an IP address that has sent spams into 1USA previously.

Unable to Resolve... your mail server
- Your mail server doesn't have all the DNS entries on your ISP's DNS server according to the RFC Specifications. Have your company's or your ISPs technical staff fix it.
Technically, the MailServer for TheirCompanyName.com doesn't exist.

Is your Dot.Com email service setup correctly?

  Filtered out by Filter0
This happens when the subject line of your email contains a keyword, such as 'viagra' used by well-known spams.

Also, there are Virus Hoaxes out there. Some hoaxes are more than 3 years old, but people keep passing them around! The hoaxes tell you to delete certain files off your computer. If you do, you will probably need a $75 computer repair to put it back.
1USA blocks known keywords used in these Hoax Letters.

and a backup account Member @ members.1usa.com has anti-virus protection

and may request to use the 3rd Mail Server also.
Member @
1usa.Net has both spam or virus protection under our new innovative ASKmail system.

which one are you sending to?

Is the sender's Email address set up correctly?
Some people at AOL.Com, MSN.Com and Gateway.Net don't know their correct email address.

Does the sender's computer have a virus?
Two of 1USA's mail servers at Home.1USA.Com and Members.1USA.Com will block all incoming attempts to infect our 1USA Subscribers.

You bought a domain name and your dot.com email doesn't work...

Let's say their real email address is JohnSmith@Gateway.Net
Let's say they have a website at http://limovanexpress.com
If they incorrectly put LimoVanExpress as their "From Address" in the email software, many email servers will reject their mail because LimoVanExpress is only a website server, not an email server.

Just because you have a Company.Com hosted on an ISP's Web Server doesn't mean that the ISP is also hosting the SMTP Email Servers.
You have to make specific arrangements with your ISP for
SMTP email hosting in addition to Web Hosting or POP3 account hosting.
If your ISP doesn't support Dot.Com hosted Email Services, bring your website here to 1USA.

Is the sender's Dot.Com company name set up correctly in the worldwide DNS system?
Probably
not.

Their DNS Administrator for their Dot.Com name needs to check to see if the MX "A" Records are set up correctly in the worldwide DNS system.
We've run across some screwed-up setups where the System Administrators have not correctly set up the MX Records in the DNS, and see this a lot with low-cost T-1 line service or low-cost website hosting service.
This can happen to both large and small companies, who buy T-1 lines based on price vs. quality.

DNS Administrators:
To test your system:
run
NSLookup on your computer.
Set Query=mx
Type in your dot.com name
If the name shows up as MX=10 with the same dot.com name, then it resolves correctly, otherwise it will not resolve.

Does the sender use an ISP that allows Spams through their system - which will get them listed as an "open relay" on the International Black Hole List?

Such systems manage to get themselves listed on the Worldwide Black Hole List at
Mail-Abuse.Org, the clearing house for black holes.
Look to see if your mail server is listed in the
ORBS database to make sure it's not listed.
Also look to see if your mail server is listed in the
SpamCop block list.

Only half of the Email Servers out there can stop spam (unsolicited commercial email) from going through their service.
The other half are companies who hire "
hardware technicians" to install important software - without locking down the software to prevent Theft of Services and Theft of Bandwidth which allows unscrupulous individuals to steal the company's bandwidth and/or SMTP Server for their own corrupt use.

The primary email server at Home.1USA.Com is capable of stopping spam.
It can also inadvertently stop legitimate messages that LOOK like spam when the SENDER doesn't have the correct info in their identity.

Does the sender's email look like a spam?

Let's say the sender's real email address is JohnSmith@SomeISP.Com
Let's say they signed up for free email at FreeEmail.Com
The proper way to send receive emails from FreeEmail.Com (or other 3rd party email service) is to use their Web Page service, NOT via email software like Outlook Express.

If they incorrectly put their identity as JohnSmith@FreeEmail.Com as their "From Address" in the email software, many email servers will reject their mail because the sending IP Address belongs to SomeISP.Com, not FreeEmail.Com, which again appears as Spam.

- go into your email software's settings and check to see if the names are correct. If you don't know what the settings are supposed to be, then call your ISP to help fix it. The favorite email software programs are: Microsoft's Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Eudora, Pegasus. There are about 40 good email programs available.

If the sender is using Microsoft's Outlook Express software
and trying to send an email to a 1USA Subscriber:

In Outlook Express, click on Tools > Accounts
then click on the Mail tab
then double-click on the Email Account that's giving problems.
(OE can handle multiple email accounts, so you need to select the account that's giving you trouble.)

- Verify that your Email Account Name is correct. This is the one assigned by your ISP.

- Verify that your Email Password is correct. This should be the one assigned by your ISP.

- Verify that the SMTP Server and POP3 Server are the ones assigned by your ISP.

- Verify your "Email Address" is correct. This is the complete JohnSmith@Gateway.Net address, or whatever.

If your ISP's name is Gateway.Net, and if this shows JohnSmith@Yahoo.com or JohnSmith@MyCompany.Com, you have a mis-match, because it does not match the SMTP and POP3 addresses, which in turn has to match the name of their Mail Server.
This is probably why your email is failing.

Sometimes this is necessary after buying a Managing Your Money CD-ROM or other CD-ROM product, which may automatically install an OLD copy of Netscape web browser AND change your default settings.

Installing AOL software, Prodigy software, etc. will also nutz-up your settings. (But notice that installing 1USA software on top of any other program doesn't nutz-up any settings.... because we take the time to put out an excellent product...)

Another problem:
Gateway.Net doesn't own their own Dialup phone numbers like
1USA.COM does.
Gateway uses PSI.Net to provide their services.
Gateway's email server is not "
locked down" to prevent spam - according to internet standards.
Consequently, every Gateway.Net customer is suseptible to receiving Spam from every spammer in the world.
Hey, You get what you pay for.

The solution is to put their real email address in the email software.
If they don't know how to do that:
(a) they can contact their tech support
(b) they can
join 1USA if we have a phone number in their area - and then get the tech support they need.

And sometimes the problem isn't with the person's email not being setup correctly, it could be the server. Here's an example:

=================================
>> -----Original Message-----
>> From: Laurel Cline Bobst
>> To: webmaster, 1usa

>> >I'm having trouble sending e-mail messages to a particular e-mail
>address.
>> I know the address is correct, and as recently as last week sent an e-mail
>> >that went through. This week, I've sent a message 4 times and it comes
>back
>> >that the "domain is unknown." I know the person's e-mail is working and
>the
>> >address is correct. What is the deal? They say they've had trouble
>> e-mailing
>> >me too. The address is: @gateway.net. Any ideas as to the problem?

=================================
Gateway.Net's email servers were not working correctly.
Contact the Gateway.Net DNS Administrator.
-
Their DNS Administrator needs to check to see if the MX "A" Records are set up correctly.

The "Domain Name Unknown" error on a service like Gateway.Net either means:
(in order of probability)
1 - their email server is too busy to answer
2 - their email server is off-line for some reason - repairs
3 - their trunkline provider is having router problems
4 - somebody typed in the wrong address, or mis-typed the address.
5 - their email server no longer exists - was taken offline permanently, which I have seen happen from time to time.
6 - Their DNS Administrator for their Dot.Com name needs to check to see if the MX "A" Records are set up correctly in the worldwide DNS system.

Does the 1USA Subscriber have a virus - and not able to receive emails?

If someone at that computer retrieves emails from a Hotmail account, Yahoo account, etc. then it is possible that the computer might have caught a virus.
