To change your video resolution:
View your Desktop - by minimizing all open windows.
You minimize a window by clicking on the Underline in the top-right corner...
Now that you see your Desktop (picture below),
Right-click on an empty area on the screen.
A gray menu will appear.
Left-click on Properties

This will open the Display control panel.
Next, click on the Settings tab.

Change the Desktop Area to 1024x768 by sliding the Slider Bar to the right.
While you are here, you might as well make sure that
the Color Palette is set for 64,000 colors (also called Hi-Color).
Setting it for Full Color is overkill. Also, your computer
will run slower when set to Full Color mode.
Click on Apply.
The video card will now test to see if the video card can handle this size. If so, click on Apply.
If not, it will automatically revert to the previous setting.
If you're not fast enough during the test, you need to do it again.
