If you have a question, maybe the answer is below.

We suggest that you print this page on your printer.
This page provides details on how to download Worldgroup and insert your 1USA UserID and Password into it.
It may look hard, but is real easy.

What is Worldgroup?

Worldgroup is "hot stuff" software!
Imagine an America Online or a CompuServe on the Worldwide Web
- well, we've GOT it!
1USA's Online Service, named 1USA Virtual City, was functional in December 1995.
The WorldgroupClient/Server software allows interactivity with other people who are on 1USA at the same time you are.
The implementation, with it's full-blown underlying accounting system, is known as a Virtual Private Network {VPN}.
Worldgroup software runs on Windows operating systems.

The Worldgroup Client/Server software has:
- a chat module that has the ability to draw pictures that the others view as you draw,
- the capability to send pages (short one-line questions) to others,
- Newsgroups (message databases),
- File Libraries,
- Multi-Player Games
- and many other features.
While most web-based software puts you in an environment where you're alone, Worldgroup software allows you to be part of a community!

How do I get the free Worldgroup Client/Server software?
You download it by clicking
here. You can choose to install it from it's current location, or you can save it on the hard disk, preferrably somewhere you keep your temporary downloads (like in C:\Downloads or C:\Temp).
After downloading, use My Computer or Windows Explorer to locate the file, then double-click on it to begin the installation.

If you already have a UserID and Password on this system, type it in when requested.
Note: If you already have a c:\wgman directory on your hard drive, downloading this file will replace it, overwriting any address book entries. We recommend just adding a new icon, below.

Adding a new icon:
If you already have a 1USA UserID and Password, don't over-write the software, just add a 2nd icon.
Click on Start > Programs > Worldgroup > Worldgroup manager to run the software.
Click on File > New > New Online Service to display an Online Service Properties window.
(If it displays something else, then open up the inner window.)
Name: Members. 1USA.Com
How to Connect: Telnet
Host: Members.1usa.com
(unclick the Log on as a New User box)
Type in your UserID and Password.
Click OK to save the changes
Double-click to Log onto 1USA Online Service using Worldgroup and have fun!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I get the Worldgroup hyperlinks to work?
A:
If you re-install a newer web browser, you need to re-establish the link between the web browser and the Client/Server software by re-installing the Plug-In.

1. Run Worldgroup (Start > Programs > Worldgroup Manager) and you will see the Worldgroup Manager window with four menu selections (File, Options, Window, Help)

2. Select "Install Plug-in" from the Options Menu. It will find every copy of a Web Browser that's on your hard disk.

Internet Explorer: You can check to make sure that a IE web browser is installed by "finding" IExplore.Exe (Start > Find > Files or Folders > Named: IExplore.Exe, Look in (C: drive).

Netscape: You can check to make sure that a Netscape web browser is installed by "finding" Netscape.Exe (Start > Find > Files or Folders > Named: Netscape.Exe, Look in (C: drive).
